Corri McFadden has always known that designer Christian Siriano, her longtime friend, would be making the dress for her special day — but she didn’t plan on that day being her baby shower. “He was supposed to be making my wedding dress for [around] this time, but then I got pregnant, so it just kind of naturally went over to a baby shower dress,” says McFadden, who is expecting her first daughter, Zelda, with fiancé Spiro Tsaparas in mid July. To celebrate the couple’s growing family, friends and colleagues Bridget White and Monique Jones set out to throw McFadden, the founder of luxury consignment company eDrop-Off, an ultra-chic shower — and fill baby Zelda’s closet with pint-sized designer duds.

The Grid (351 W. Hubbard) introduced its brunch menu in style Dec. 8, inviting supporters to eat, drink and shop at the Savor the Season event. While sampling entrees like French Toast stuffed with carbonated blackberry, cream cheese, rum maple syrup and chocolate anglaise, and poached eggs with sausage and goat cheese in a diablo tomato sauce, guests snagged holiday gifts from local businesses including von Z, Veruca Salt and Leah Chavie Skincare. DJ Megan Taylor provided the shopping soundtrack.
In early November, Whitney Reynolds (of The Whitney Reynolds Show) and David Heiner tied the not on “I do, Chicago Style”. The two chose to use local businesses and vendors for their wedding including Leah Chavie Skincare Center & Boutique as the go to Chicago skincare specialists.
