Originally posted on Chicago Tribune website on August 12, 2014.
Macy’s Passport Presents Glamorama, themed “Fashion Rocks,” was a sellout with nearly 1,500 in attendance Aug. 8 at the Harris Theater at Millennium Park. For the sixth year, the fashion and musical extravaganza benefited Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana.
The hourlong production featured collections from Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein and Ryan Seacrest Distinction. Crowd favorites included a segment featuring an appearance by a Hello Kitty character accompanied by eight young dancers who wowed the crowd with their moves, and Diesel, whose male models drew wild applause from the audience.

Chicago’s Best Facials: Banana Split Treatments, Ayuervedic Assessments, and More

Article originally published  Thursday, July 24, 2014, by Jenny Berg on Racked
When the seasons change (or, in Chicago, the hours), it’s a great time to get a facial. From treatments that moisturize the skin in the most luxurious way to a new service that takes less than hour to make skin look dewy and fresh, here are seven of Chicago’s hottest facials of the moment.
Where to Get a Facial in Chicago

LEAH CHAVIE SKIN CARE BOUTIQUE
Beloved among local taste-makers and socialites, Leah Chavie offers a Stem Cell facial that’s said to give skin a luminous glow. The treatment begins with a micro-needling of the face. Then pure stem cells are applied to help the body replace damaged skin cells with new, more youthful looking ones. The service typically costs $275, but Chavie will offer $100 off to anyone who mentions this Racked feature. [Photo: Courtesy of Leah Chavie]

This could mean physically and mentally. Mentally, we start to prepare for the combining of two different lives, two different families, the possibility of children and of buying a home. There’s a lot of mental preparation. Physically, you might want to lose a few pounds, tone up your arms, work on your tush, get your skin in flawless shape, lengthen your lashes…the list goes on and on.

Corri McFadden’s Baby Shower

Originally published on SPLASH website
Corri McFadden has always known that designer Christian Siriano, her longtime friend, would be making the dress for her special day — but she didn’t plan on that day being her baby shower. “He was supposed to be making my wedding dress for [around] this time, but then I got pregnant, so it just kind of naturally went over to a baby shower dress,” says McFadden, who is expecting her first daughter, Zelda, with fiancé Spiro Tsaparas in mid July. To celebrate the couple’s growing family, friends and colleagues Bridget White and Monique Jones set out to throw McFadden, the founder of luxury consignment company eDrop-Off, an ultra-chic shower — and fill baby Zelda’s closet with pint-sized designer duds.
